CISL (University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership) is a globally renowned institute for developing leadership, partnerships and solutions for a sustainable economy. In 30 years, the institute has built up an impressive track record of collaboration between business, government and financial institutions. The leadership model has been developed by the CISL, the Value Mapping Tool by the Institute of Manufacturing.
The Cambridge Impact Leadership Model
In 2018 CISL published the Cambridge Impact Leadership Model. CISL (the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership) developed this model after 30 years of experience in sustainability research and leadership programs. The model shows that reconciling commercial success with positive outcomes for society and the environment contribute to the successful future of organisations.
The model is part of the “Rewiring Leadership The future we want, the leadership we need” publication. It calls on companies and organizations to take a leadership role in the necessary transition and to actively contribute to positive system changes for the environment and society. We should not limit own actions to following legislation and adapting to the changing context. Taking on an ambitious role in the transition has a clear economic and social business case. The model provides an analysis of the relevant knowledge and skills for a successful transition, for both senior management and professionals within an organization

De Cambridge Value Mapping tool
The Cambridge Value Mapping tool was developed by the University of Cambridge. The tool is designed to help companies identify their value streams to achieve sustainable business goals. By reviewing a process or service in an interactive way, innovation is stimulated and sustainable ideas are generated. The innovative ideas are converted into actions in a structured process for implementation within the organization and in the value chain.
Dr Doroteya Vladimirova is Director of the Regenerative Business Models research program at the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge and also one of the developers of the Cambridge Value Mapping Tool. She has frequently applied the model worldwide in workshops at many international organizations. Doroteya is part of the SUSC professionals network and closely involved in the use of the Value model by SUSC.
